SUMMER CAMPS

Over the summer Tiwala conducted two youth camps at the old Tiwala Farm. The first camp was for the boys and girls in a mountain village in Santo Domingo, where the children bonded with the Tiwala team and volunteers and participated in various creative and recreational activities.

The second camp was for the street boys who usually reside in Legazpi City. This was a great opportunity for the boys to have a break from their difficult lives on the streets and experience the love and nurture of being in a family environment. We were amazed at how easily the boys adapted to being so far from the city, almost forgetting their need to ‘prove themselves’ and be tough. The boys enjoyed the simplicity of being in nature and engaged in outdoor games and activities such as making kites, musical instruments, crafts etc.

The children all participated in Tiwala Jam, worship and prayer and were open to learning about God and His Fatherly love for them.

Tiwala hopes to repeat these summer camps for the street children each year.
