PROJECTS & PLANS 2008

TRANSPORTATION

One of the most pressing needs for the community Tiwala serves is school transportation for the children.  At present the children walk up to three hours per day to get to and from school.  We hope to arrange for a jeep to embark on daily school trips, ensuring regular school attendance and a huge relief for tired children.

SUMMER SCHOOL

Tiwala is planning to have a summer school program at Tiwala Farm in April and May 2008.  We are busy identifying volunteers to help out as teachers, cooks, and aides.  We are also looking for materials such as paper, pencils, notebooks, backpacks and other school supplies for the children who will be attending the classes.  We are expecting about 80 to 100 children to participate in this first summer school.
